Bacon Man!

Constructed by a woman called NetDiva, this is an effigy for all time. A being with no knowledge of what it means to be sightless, having never had eyes. It knows no pain, but also no hope. It senses it's made from the flesh of other creatures but it revels in that, feeling the wind between its ribs and believing only in itself. An idol to desecration, whose ultimate destruction will brighten the world.

spanish architecture, CICCM, centro Internacional de convenciones de la ciudad de Madrid, Madrid Convention Center, Mansilla + Tunon Architecture
Recently Mansilla + Tunon Architects broke ground on a stunning new project that will introduce an iconic green superstructure to Madrid’s skyline. The International Convention Center (CICCM) features a unique cylindrical building facade lined with solar panels and concave curves that suffuse its interiors with daylight. The plan will also introduce 80,000 square meters of green space to the city and will house an extensive rainwater catchment system.

New Screenshot of Jolicloud Netbook Operating System

Netvibes founder Tariq Krim sent me a new screenshot of Jolicloud, the Linux-based Netbook-optimized operating system he’s building (we first covered Jolicloud last December).

The screen shot, which is significantly evolved from what we saw in Paris, shows a set of featured applications that mixes desktop and cloud software - Facebook, Skype, Meebo and Youtube, among others, are shown with large icons that make it easier on Netbook users, who have to make do with smallish screens.

Yes! Looks really cool. Cant wait for it to be released and give it a try.

Breathe new life into your old iPod - Make it an external drive

madison wi campus
instead of coughing up the extra cash for a USB jump drive or external hard drive, why not breath new life into your old iPod by converting it into a combination of the two?

Putting your iPod into “Disk Mode” opens it up for use as a USB drive, and allows you to store basically anything on it:

1. Connect your iPod and computer, via the USB cable.

2. Restart your iPod before putting it into Disk Mode (hold switch must be off).

3. Press and hold the following combination (listed below) simultaneously for 15 seconds to reset your iPod. iPod 1G to 3G (scroll & touch wheel iPods): "Menu" and "Play/Pause" iPod 4G+ (Photo, Nano, Video, and Mini): "Menu" and "Select Center Button"

4. As soon as you see the Apple logo, release, and hold down the "Fast Forward" and "Rewind" buttons. This will put your iPod into Disk Mode (if your iPod did not mount on your computer, restart the computer).

5. Your iPod is now in Disk Mode, and should say so on the top of the iPod's screen. It should also be flashing the "Do not disconnect" icon.

6. Now you can surf the Internet and load it with portable apps, and begin to save all your photos, files, and music to your new portable disk drive.

Dell added a 256GB solid-state drive option to its XPS M1330 and XPS M1730 laptops
Dell is ushering in the age of the super-sized solid-state drive.Back in the day (last January), laptop buyers were stuck with a Henry Fordesque choice: you can order any solid-state drive you want with your laptop as long as it's 64GB.What a difference a year makes. On Friday, Dell quadrupled this to 256GB. The Samsung SSD is now available as an option on Dell's XPS M1330 and M1730 laptop lines.

LOS ANGELES – Ricardo Montalban, the Mexican-born actor who became a star in splashy MGM musicals and later as the wish-fulfilling Mr. Roarke in TV's "Fantasy Island," died Wednesday morning at his home, a city councilman said. He was 88.Montalban's death was announced at a city council meeting by president Eric Garcetti, who represents the district where the actor lived.
